It can be scary to take that first step into counseling. With that in mind, I have tried to make my office and my approach user friendly. If we are going to work on difficult life issues and you're willing to share your personal story with me in confidence, we might as well be as comfortable as possible. It is my priority for you to feel at ease with your counseling experience. Explore this website so you can get an idea of how I do things here.
Just so you know, I am a one person office. That means that I don't have an office assistant to help me with the day to day business of running a practice. When I am in the office, I am usually with clients, so if you need to contact me, email will be the best, quickest way to catch me. I am generally much quicker at returning emails than I am with phone calls. I will return your phone call, but it may take me a day or two based on my schedule. If you'd like to schedule your own appointment, please do so with the online calendar. It's truly the fastest way to book an appointment with me.
When you arrive, you may not see me right away. That's ok... just relax on the couch and breathe. There are two other counselors who work in my office that you may see walking around. You may also be greeted by my fearless and trusting hound, Flaco. Flaco means "skinny" in Spanish, however, he isn't so skinny anymore. Life with the Brown family has agreed with him and now he's not really "flaco" anymore. If you are not a dog person, just let me know prior to your arrival and Flaco can take a break from his mascot duties while you are here.
